The duo unveiled the People's Fund of Maui, a relief initiative aimed at extending direct financial support to those affected by the disaster.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took to X to affirm that every dollar donated would directly benefit the victims. He stated:

"Every adult resident who lives in the affected area and was displaced by the wildfires in Lahaina and Kula is eligible to receive $1200 per month to help them through this period of recovery."

In a remarkable display of solidarity, the global crypto community is now actively contributing to this noble cause. 

The People's Fund of Maui is open to contributions in various fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin, among others. Oprah Winfrey highlighted that the objective is to empower survivors to make decisions about their path to recovery: "People being able to have their own agency, being able to make decisions for themselves — about what they need and what their family needs — that is our goal," she added.
