The upgrade will introduce a new feature called BEP-126 for faster block finality and will fix a bug related to Ledger's public keys.

BNB Beacon Chain Hard Fork

The BNB Beacon Chain mainnet will undergo an upgrade on June 15, 2023, at 6:00 (UTC) at block height 321,213,000. Inspired by the legendary figure in ancient China, this upgrade will be known as the Luban mainnet upgrade. The full node runners on the mainnet will be required to switch to software version v0.10.14 before the upgrade date.

The upgrade will introduce new changes, enabling the blockchain to handle a series of new business rules and logic.

What do I need to do as a user?

Users who hold BNB on exchanges like Binance, BitMax, or Gate, or in wallets like Ledger or Cool Wallet will not have to take any action unless notified by the exchanges or wallets.

On the other hand, full node operators will need to upgrade to version v0.10.14. Find the upgrade instructions in the official BNB Chain announcement

Full node operators who forget to upgrade on time will not be able to connect or send transactions. However, there is a recovery process available.

The upcoming upgrade will introduce a new feature called BEP-126, which ensures fast finality for blocks on BSC. There will also be a bug fix related to reading public keys from Ledger.

It’s important to note that regular users of BNB Chain will not experience any noticeable changes.
