Another Selling Success

A second sale that included a rare Non-fungible Token (NFT) of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first professional goal has been carried out successfully by RealFevr.

Excitement had been building since the initial announcement regarding the sale, and a huge number of prospective buyers were looking to get their hands on the especially rare Ronaldo NFT, which caused quite a stir for RealFevr’s servers.

“We had overtraffic with over 10k unique users and 4M page views, which caused the server to be slow and interrupt sales.” RealFevr’s Marketing Manager, Delfim Cascais exclusively revealed to BSC News. “Anyway, all 36k packs were sold in less than 5 hours,” he continued.

With RealFevr the first platform to offer football video NFTs, there had already been a good degree of interest, and after an initial sale in August saw $1.5 million spent, this round also showed promise.

“PACKS CAN NOW BE OPENED! Are you going to be the one who pulls Cristiano Ronaldo's First Official Goal?!” RealFevr’s enthusiastically tweeted via their official account.  “Our team has been working hard every single day to give you the best #NFT pack opening experience ever! We are so excited to receive your feedback.”

When budding buyers did eventually open their packs not all were best pleased with their findings, but this is simply a reality of the set probabilities at hand. The randomness of blockchain

“Right now people are complaining because they didn't pull Legendary moments, which is completely normal. After all this is like a lottery, but everything is on-chain, so it's completely random and based on probabilities. There were only 200 legendaries and 1 Unique on the Drop!” Delfim Cascais confirmed.

Despite the disappointment that some may have endured, Cascais reiterated the fact that as a result of the sale, 67.2 million $FEVR tokens would be locked away in a move that’ll prove as beneficial as a ‘burn.’

NFTs on Offer

A host of household footballing names whose pieces of magic on the field had been recorded and rendered into NFTs were up for grabs.

Of course, Ronaldo’s goal was not the only sought after NFT, as the sale included Radamel Falcao’s unforgettable goal during his stint at FC Porto. Angel Di Maria’s dazzling effort from outside the box while at SL Benfica was also bought. The most expensive player to come out of Primeira Liga, Joao Felix, also had a sought after piece of his goal against the mighty Iker Casillas.

In our exclusive message with RealFevr’s Delfim Cascais, he also revealed an NFT he found memorable:

“We had an exclusive legendary moment of a save from Chilavert against Diego Maradona, on the best years of the Argentinian League (90s).”

How these NFTs go on to perform in the market will be an interesting proposition for many onlookers, as RealFevr may begin to see interest from a good deal more of crypto users. With sports and crypto firmly rubbing up against each other with projects like Chiliz and Crypto.com of late, RealFevr will have also wanted to stamp their own authority.
