A Dogecoin-Themed Body Spray?

In a bizarre turn of events, the men’s deodorant and lifestyle company AXE has teased a new Dogecoin-themed body spray. AXE’s Twitter account first teased the “Dogecan” with an image of vigilant DogeCoin eyes on July 13th.

The AXE account then replied to a tweet from user @AshleyIllusion1 with an AXE body spray can sporting the Dogecoin-themed mascot with “crypto scent” written underneath.

The Doge community is ecstatic and a bit confused. What does “crypto scent” even smell like? Will there be a crypto aromatized body spray? Below is shown another cryptic message from AXE hinting that on  July 20th, something involving a “Dogecan” is happening.

AXE has remained conveniently vague about what the Dogecan is and what a Dogecoin “partnership” entails. One thing is for certain though, and that is the #dogecan hashtag is beginning to trend all over Twitter.

DogeCoin has seen its price fall below $.20 USD amidst a steady decline over the last month, according to CoinMarketCap. The coin can definitely use a rebound, especially after the co-founder put both crypto and the coin on blast in a Twitter rant on July 14. Judging by the overall hype on Twitter, fans cannot wait.

What is AXE?

AXE is a men's health and grooming company. The AXE brand became incredibly popular due to its powerful body spray products. AXE’s body spray products gained infamy as many critics have called them overly powerful in terms of scent and smell. AXE is owned by the French company Hindustan Unilever Limited which released the AXE brand in 1983. The brand targets young males as their primary demographic.

What is Dogecoin?

Dogecoin is a peer-to-peer, open-source cryptocurrency. Also considered as an altcoin, the cryptocurrency is seen as a meme or joke. The altcoin was created in December 2013 and has gained massive adoption since last year.

Its logo is a Shiba Inu dog, the DOGE, as it is popularly called. However, the cryptocurrency's blockchain still has quality. It is modeled after Litecoin and has a lot of unique features. Two of which are its unlimited supply and low prices helped by a scrypt algorithm.
