Trust Wallet Browser Extension Arrives As Self-Custody Takes Center Stage

Formerly only available on mobile, the new web browser extension is a major step for self-custody and personal protection for Trust Wallet users.

Trust Wallet Finally Launches Browser Extension

Trust Wallet has debuted its browser wallet extension after existing entirely on mobile since it first began over two years ago. The move helps more users obtain self-custody during difficult market times.

With self-custody becoming an important topic following the crashes of several exchanges in 2022, Trust Wallet has pivoted to improve its customer experience. The blog announcement on Nov. 14 from John.TrustWallet confirmed that the “most requested feature has finally come to life.” The blog also wrote how the team took the request seriously, as many users only access Web3 on desktop and that TrustWallet wants to meet the users where they are.

The new browser wallet comes with integrations between popular Decentralized Application (dApp) wallets like MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet. Trust Wallet brings self-custody, multi-chain, and Web3 access to safely store, send, and receive more than 8 million tokens and connect with myriad dApps.

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) called the arrival a ‘huge release’ when he gave support in a tweet following the launch.

The Trust Wallet team has published a comprehensive guide on how to begin using the browser, complete with instructions and images on integrating third-party applications and wallets. As self-custody becomes more common, users need products like Trust Wallets to have more control over their own assets.

What Is Trust Wallet:

Trust Wallet is a noncustodial multi-crypto wallet app that gives users full control over their digital assets, from cryptocurrencies to non-fungible tokens (NFTs). As the official crypto wallet of Binance, it currently supports 65 blockchains, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron and Ripple. It also supports over 8 million crypto assets plus access to decentralized apps (dApps). The Trust Wallet app is free to download on Android, IOS, and also via PlayStore or AppStore. It has a simple, straightforward, and interactive user interface, which has helped the platform accrue over 10 million active users.
