Shiba Inu supporters say the news effectively counters FUD against the layer-2 Shibarium blockchain.

Shibarium ‘Puppy Net’ in Progress

The Shiba Inu community is passing around information about progress being made on the Shibarium Network, including updated documentation and a new chain ID for the “Puppy Net” testnet.

Shiba influencers including LucieSHIB are sharing a screenshot of a Shiba developer saying, “Docs are completed and the reason of the slight delay is it is being checked with [ShibaSwap developer] kaal to mark sure everything is fine. Also we will release more things than docs if possible.”

Shiba supporters are saying the news is an antidote to FUD about the developing layer-2 blockchain, including allegations that Shibarium is a direct clone of the Rinia testnet.

Suspicions around Shibarium and Rinia were floated because the initial chain ID for Puppy Net was 917, which is the ID for Rinia.

Shibarium developers responded, saying it was a coincidence, and they had chosen chain IDs for the phases of Shibarium in advance of the launch of Rinia.

Now, the Puppy Net ID has been changed to 719, and the testnet can be added to MetaMask wallets for people who want to explore the new chain.

What is Shiba Inu:

Shiba Inu is an Ethereum-based altcoin that has the Shiba Inu—a Japanese breed of hunting dog—as its mascot. The SHIB token aspires to be an Ethereum-based alternative to Dogecoin (DOGE). Unlike Bitcoin, which is designed to be scarce, SHIB was created to be intentionally abundant — with a total supply of one quadrillion. The Shiba Inu Token ecosystem supports projects such as an NFT art incubator and the development of a decentralized exchange called Shibaswap.
