Pi Day 2023 Recap: Important Information for all Pioneers

The Pi Community Contributes to Open Mainnet Launch 

Pi Day 2023 was a significant milestone in Pi Network’s development, celebrating the platform’s fourth anniversary in the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) industry. 

The protocol’s fourth anniversary was celebrated with amazing achievements, including launching the mass KYC solution and the innovative hackathon. Both initiatives, amongst others, have contributed to developing the Pi ecosystem and improving its infrastructure. 

As promised by the platform, a captivating video was shared with all Pioneers, disclosing the notable milestones and important announcement as the Open mainnet draws near. One of Pi Network’s founders, Dr. Nikolas Kokkalis, shared numerous information with users, including the protocol’s next plans in the industry and Pioneers’ relevance in open mainnet launch. 

According to the founder, the Pi community, which includes the Pioneers, the core team, and community developers, must work together to ensure that the open mainnet is achieved. 

“The Pi community includes Pioneers, the Core Team, and community developers. Now, we need to focus on what the entire community can do to move the main goals of the Enclosed Network forward, and bring us closer to Open Network.” 

The main goals of the enclosed mainnet are mass KYC and utility creation for the Pi ecosystem. Already, the core team is working on mass KYC and mainnet migration by making sure that the KYC is available to all Pioneers. 

On building utility, the platform has added a Testnet Ecosystem interface for Pioneers to explore Decentralized Applications (dApps) in development. The core team has also made massive improvements to developer resources such as App to User payments API, Developer Wallets, improved hackathon facilitation through the Pi brainstorm app, created ecosystem programs (Ecosystem and Local Business Ambassador), and more. 

Pioneers speed up the open mainnet launch by passing KYC and migrating themselves, becoming KYC validators, and inviting their friends to KYC. On utility building, Pioneers can develop Pi apps, participate in ecosystem programs, and use Pi apps. For developers, numerous builders have participated in the hackathon program, and more will be released in the future. 

Generally, Pi Network’s Open mannet cannot be attained until both goals are achieved if the Pi community performs their required tasks as stated in the protocol’s official announcement and video.
