Ebisu’s Bay Hosts AMA With DG Pals

In a wide-ranging AMA with Ebisu’s Bay, DG Pals Co-Founder Kit talked about why the GameFi project migrated to Cronos Chain from BNB Chain, plans for 2023, and more.

DG Pals originally launched on BNB Chain in December 2021. Kit described interactions with the chain’s community as being “very dry,” saying the team approached as many as 80 venture capital entities seeking support during that time.

“The entire experience of being on BNB, it wasn’t very human at all. It was very mechanical. When we tried to sign off on our launchpad, it was like a huge form that we needed to fill out,” Kit said. “When we tried to reach out to incubators or tried to reach out to different grants and funds, again, same thing. ‘Don’t tell us what you have; just fill out this form first. We’ll get back to you.’”

By contrast, talking with Crypto.com and Cronos Chain meant actual discussions with humans about the extractive value of Web3 and DG Pals’ ambitions.

“That kind of conversation was very very exciting,” he said, and DG Pals moved its ecosystem to Cronos in March 2022.

With two games live and playable, and five Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collections launched, DG Pals has even bigger plans for 2023, including new classes of NFTs, new NFT collections, partnerships, several new games, expansion to Polygon, and the launch of the new governance token $DGG.

In conjunction with the AMA, Ebisu’s Bay also published a Medium post examining the project.

What Is Cronos:

Cronos is an Ethereum-compatible layer-1 blockchain network built on the Cosmos SDK technology. The network was designed to scale the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector and user base of the decentralized application (Dapps) by enabling developers to instantly port dApps and assets from other layer-1 blockchain networks like Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and Terra.
